New One Piece: Burning Blood Trailer

The trailer for One Piece: Burning Blood is here and it has landed severely in ‘What the Fuck?’ territory. The trailer is in Japanese, which just adds to the level of confusion, and opens with 2 grown men hitting each other with a piece of 2×4 in some sort of weird Japanese gameshow like scenario. It then goes on to show gameplay from the actual game. We see Marco, Drake, Chopper, Sengoku and Kizaru (along with others) battling it out in what will be a 1 on 1, 3v3 battle arena type game. The game releases in the west on May 31st for...

Salt and Sanctuary

Salt and Sanctuary is a 2D platformer developed by Ska Studios and heavily influenced by the Dark Souls series of games where defeating bosses is about as easy as going outside in a thunderstorm and trying to dodge rain. The crushing and brutal lows that you will inevitably experience are offset by the moments of absolute elation as you finally beat a boss that you have been smashing your fucking head against for hours and hours. I spent my first 4 hours of Salt and Sanctuary trying to beat the first boss, and when I finally did it, when...

Quantum Break releases this week!

Quantum break is a time bending shooter with real life actors taking part in a bunch of TV-esque cut scenes that looks downright phenomenal. Developed by Remedy Entertainment, who are well known for the Max Payne and Alan Wake series of games, Quantum Break is being released on Xbox One and the Windows Store this week! The game’s protagonist, Jack Joyce is played by Shawn Ashmore, who I remember seeing in the Animorphs live action TV series and who also plays the role of Ice Man in the latest X-Men movies. The main antagonist, Paul Serene, is enacted by Aidan Gillen, better...

Stardew Valley

Dear Eric Barone, How dare you make me enjoy farming. Stardew Valley has no right being as amazing as it is. Sincerely Mathew Perkins This is the letter I would send to Eric Barone if I had his address. It more or less sums up perfectly how I feel about Stardew Valley, the indie smash that came right out of left field and took everyone by surprise. It really is an amazing game. It’s a love letter to the lowly. It’s a masterpiece penned in the ink of the mundane. It’s so superbly simple that I just fucking love...

Final Fantasy 15 just got a whole lot bigger

The Final Fantasy: Uncovered live event, was insane. I can barely contain my excitement for both Final Fantasy 15 and the incoming universe that will be expanded upon in the leadup to the release of the game. A game that has been in development for 10 years, deserved a big announcement and Square Enix delivered arguably the biggest, most impressive and most enjoyable single game conference that I have ever seen. All in all, there were 14 major announcements to be ‘Uncovered’ during the event. 1: Hironobu Sakaguchi The creator of Final Fantasy live on stage. Had a few...
