Dota 2 International Invitees Announced

Off the back of the resounding return to form of the Manila event, Valve have announced the invitees for this years Dota 2 International, the game of games in the Dota scene. You aren’t a great team until you’ve won it even if, like OG, you’ve won 2 separate majors. Further on OG, they’ve become the only team to win 2 Valve hosted events but unfortunately for them, neither of those events were an international where the prize pool currently sits at US$12,357,367. Last years event had a prize pool of $18,000,000 and the winning players each earned more...

PC Gaming E3 Press Conference Wrap Up

The PC Gamer/AMD press conference is 3 hours long. Not kidding. I’ve included the video in full just beneath this header but I’ve also added timed links that go directly to each segment because quite frankly, there’s too much stuff for the average person to sit through and not all of it will appeal to everyone. Simply click on the time at the start of each segment and feel the rush of the internet doing its thing. There are 2 different hosts, Sean “Day[9]” Plott, a former caster from the Starcraft scene and Tom Marks from PC Gamer who...

What you can do in No Man’s Sky

My biggest contention with No Man’s Sky thus far is that there hasn’t been any demonstration of what it is that you actually do that would convince me to play it. Sure, there’s a googleplex planets or something like that that no one will ever be able to visit in their entirety. Sure, there’s totally different creatures and environments to explore on those myriad planets. But now we have proof that you can do more than just explore and maybe shoot harmless or not so harmless wildlife. Courtesy of IGN we have a good chunk of footage which shows some...

Total War: Warhammer Chaos Warriors Extension

More good news on the Warhammer front in the form of giant, hellish dragon ogres! Originally, the Chaos Warriors were only going to be included in the game for free if you were to pre-order but if you buy the game within the first week of its release you will also get access to the faction without having to pay for them separately later on as DLC. Now that may not sound like a bad deal unless you’ve been keeping track of Creative Assembly’s track record lately. They make absolutely fantastic strategy games, just not all the time. Hopefully...

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided trailer

I’m trying not to get too excited right now. The Deus Ex series is another in a long list that has a massively important and potent legacy in PC gaming. The original consistently makes its way to top ten games lists, deservedly. The most recent sequel Deus Ex: Human Revolution was a great game as well but not without flaws. Thankfully even the devs saw fit to apologise and fix them with the directors cut version. Before the end of this trailer I feel like they’ve learnt a lot from their mistakes and are really pushing themselves to make...
