Last month was another stellar month of releases, with Far Cry 5 and Sea of Thieves burning up way too much of my time. The team has been enjoying the hell out of both of these games and we just wanted to take a second to say Thank You to our wonderful Ultra Super Mega community, for joining us either on the Seven Seas or running through the landscape of Hope County.

With that said, another month has rolled around and we have some more amazing titles lined up to hit our hip pockets this month. Check out the Outlook below, and let us know your thoughts on this month’s releases in the comments!

The Games

Extinction – Tuesday, 10th of April (PS4, XBone)

So, I’ve got this pre-ordered and paid off, but I’m not really sure if I have any real expectations for this game. I’m walking into this one a bit blind, so it could either be really good or really bad. Expect to see something about this title from me on the website. – Josh Perkins

This is a weird one. Kind of reminds me of Attack on Titan mixed with Assassins Creed. Not sure if it will be any good, but I’ll probably have to pick it up and check it out. – Mathew Perkins

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life – Tuesday, 17th of April (PS4)

The Yakuza series confuses me a bit. Not something I will be getting into. – Josh Perkins

The Yakuza series confuses me a bit. Definitely something I will be getting into. – Mathew Perkins

Well, I have not played any games in the series but after the hype around Yakuza 0 last year I do really want to give this one a go at some stage. These games are nuts and feel like a game that everyone needs to try at least once. The depth and random nature of the game is crazy and if you have the spare time and cash give it a go for sure. – Peter Wilkinson

Darkest Dungeon: Crimson Edition – Thursday, 19th of April (PS4, Switch)

Anything Darkest Dungeon you should 100% give a go as it is such a smart and unique game. If you have not jumped in then this is the moment, especially if you are a Switch owner. – Peter Wilkinson

I have heard a lot of people talk about this game, and it is not something I have ever really considered playing. From what people tell me, it is very good. But probably not something I will be getting – Mathew Perkins

God of War – Friday, 20th of April (PS4)

I will admit that I missed the original trilogy and some may say that is a good thing. Heading into this I am excited to finally get my hands on it and see what they are bringing to the table with this new title in the franchise. The story looks good from the little gameplay we have seen so far, the graphics are stunning, the setting is very enticing and the gameplay looks solid. This looks like my pick of games this month by a long way and very excited for its release. – Peter Wilkinson

I cannot wait to get my hands on this game. I had serious fun in the original trilogy, and everything I have seen of this game so far makes it look like that fun will continue. Got this pre-ordered and paid off. Keen as a bean – Josh Perkins

I liked the old God of War games. I didn’t love them, I liked them. This game looks different, which is a good thing. It’s what the series needed. However, I am suffering pretttty heavily from ‘Open World Fatigue’ right now. So hopefully this isn’t Horizon 2.0. – Mathew Perkins

Nintendo Labo – Friday, 20th of April (Switch)

Ummmm, well, its different. I will not be getting this for the simple fact that I have kids and they will destroy these cardboard accessories. This is such a weird statement as Nintendo is marketing this towards kids. I hope there is a way to very cheaply replace the broken bits of cardboard otherwise this could be a very big waste of time for a lot of people. Real wait and see thing for this one. – Peter Wilkinson

I still can’t believe that Nintendo has worked out a way to charge you for the Cardboard one of their games comes in, and for it to be lauded as an inspiration. I mean….it’s cardboard! Grown-ass adults will now be playing with cardboard for hours on end. What the hell is happening? – Josh Perkins

Nah. – Mathew Perkins

Assetto Corsa: Ultimate Edition – Friday, 20th of April (PS4, XBone)

I am a big racing game fan, always have been but I think this series is beyond me. If you want a top of the line simulation of racing fast cars and you have not jumped on this then do it when this releases. – Peter Wilkinson

Don’t Starve Mega Pack – Friday, 20th of April (PS4, XBone)

Always been interested to jump into this game and this might be the time to do it. Shame about the release date but I will try to get to it eventually. – Peter Wilkinson
