The first month of 2018 is now behind us, and it has left us with a slew of amazing titles that I am sure we are all busy sinking our free time in to. I know I’ve struggled to put down Monster Hunter: World and am yet to sink my teeth into Dragonball FighterZ!

But, with a new month comes new releases. While February may not have the massive titles that January did, there is still a bucket load of games hitting the shelves this month. Check out the list below, and our team’s thoughts on what they want to play this month!

The Games

UFC 3 – Friday, 2nd of February (PS4, XBone)

I really enjoy watching UFC. I also really enjoyed playing the UFC games when they weren’t looked at as money printing machines. I won’t be picking this one up based on principal. And if you have no idea what I am talking about, then I won’t ruin this franchise for you. The fighting will probably be good, but get your credit card ready.. – Mathew Perkins

I used to play the WWE games way back when I was a young lad, probably way back when it was actually called the WWF. I haven’t picked one of those up for probably 5 years, and I dont think I will be picking up any of the UFC titles either – Josh Perkins

From all reports from the beta EA has copy and pasted UFC 2 into UFC 3 and made it somehow worse graphically. If you are a UFC fan i am assuming you should have a copy of UFC 2 already so just keep playing that. – Peter Wilkinson

Shadow of the Colossus – Wednesday, 7th of February (PS4)

Easily one of the most iconic games on the PS2. Pretty much a ‘must play’ if you haven’t already played through the original, or the remaster. – Mathew Perkins

Never played the original, and not sure if I’m going to play this to be honest. I’m told it’s good….but there is just only so much free time I have. – Josh Perkins

Worth a look for people who love a good boss fight, probably some of the most epic (and I don’t use that term lightly) encounters to be had in video games. There are some subtle changes to the art direction in this remake but it won’t matter much to newcomers. – Joey Hedrick

Missed the original both times it has released, pretty keen to play it finally as it seems amazing but I will wait for a PSN sale for this one. – Peter Wilkinson

Portal Knights – Thursday, 8th of February (Switch)

I still don’t own a switch. – Mathew Perkins

I do own a Switch, but I’m still working my way through Xenoblade on it. Portal Knights is something I will end up getting, just not right now. – Josh Perkins

This has been out on Steam for about a year now which is probably a better version. – Joey Hedrick

The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia – Friday, 9th of February (PS4)

What is it with Japan’s obsession with 3d arena fighters?! This game looks pretty cool, I suppose.. But if you have played any of the Naruto fighting games, then you have more or less already played this. – Mathew Perkins

I watched The Seven Deadly Sins on Netflix, and thought it was a pretty decent show. When I first heard about this game, I was a little excited. Then I found out it was a arena fighter, and became less excited. Much less. – Josh Perkins

Kingdom Come Deliverance – Tuesday, 13th of February (PS4, XBone, PC)

After watching some gameplay with developer commentary on this, I am actually reasonably impressed. An RPG game with realistic sword and hand to hand combat. Looks a little bit rough, but a promising premise. Might have to consider picking this one up. – Mathew Perkins

On my watch list, the developers are extremely dedicated to a realistic depiction of the area they grew up in, albeit a representation of its past. – Joey Hedrick

Kick-started this game for some reason and have not paid any attention to it since. Seems pretty good but we will wait and see. – Peter Wilkinson

Overcooked Special Edition – Tuesday, 13th of February (Switch)

Oh, nah. – Mathew Perkins

Monster Energy Supercross – Tuesday, 13th of February (PS4, XBone, Switch)

I’m sure someone buys these types of games. It’s just not me. – Josh Perkins

I own the normal edition and it is amazing to play with friends. Do yourself a favour and give it a go if you have a switch and someone in the house to use the second remote. – Peter Wilkinson

Secret of Mana – Thursday, 15th of February (PS4)

Secret of Mana is a game that I would HAPPILY replay. I am going to be picking this one up for SURE. If you claim to be a fan of JRPG’s and have never had the opportunity to play through one of the premier titles from the 16 bit era, this here is your chance. – Mathew Perkins

I’ll borrow this from Mat, because I don’t think I have ever played this – Josh Perkins

Bayonetta 2 – Friday, 16th of February (Switch)

I never played any of the Bayonetta titles, and think I missed out on something. Considering you get a copy of the first game with the special edition, I am definitely looking at picking this one up for my Switch. – Josh Perkins

Would love to play this as I did miss it originally but I just don’t think I have the time to dedicate to it to truely enjoy it. Beautiful game though. – Peter Wilkinson

Dynasty Warriors 9 – Tuesday, 20th of February (PS4, XBone)

I can’t believe there are 9 of these games. – Mathew Perkins

This is another title that just seems to have been around for as long as I can remember playing games. I’ve played a few of them, but they have always only ever been fillers to me. Interestingly, we had a chat about Dynasty Warriors on Episode 71 of the Mega Cast with Iain Garner from Another Indie, and it has made me want to have a look at the source material for the games. – Josh Perkins

Pretty excited about this, might be my one must buy game this month. Everything I am hearing about how they are changing this game seems really good and looking forward to getting some time with it when I can. Even though this is my pick of the month I still might wait for the reviews and it to go on sale. – Peter Wilkinson

A long standing series, this looks to be the first that deviates from the formula in a meaningful way which has my interest piqued. It’s good to swat away 1000 dudes every now and then. – Joey Hedrick

Metal Gear Survive – Thursday, 22nd of February (PS4, XBone)

I know there was a beta for this recently, but it was on at the same time as the Sea of Thieves beta so I ignored it. I didn’t hear much come out of the beta, but I have never been much of a Metal Gear fan, so that’s ok. – Josh Perkins

Likely to be lacking the substance that has made the Metal Gear series famous. Could be fun if you’re into survival games and has been made in the Fox engine which did wonders for Metal Gear Solid 5. – Joey Hedrick

I am going to pretend this doesn’t exist. – Peter Wilkinson

Payday 2 – Friday, 23rd of February (Switch)

I’m glad all these games that were released over the past 3 years are making their way to the Switch….but I’ve already played them. – Josh Perkins

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet – Friday, 23rd of February (PS4, XBone, Switch)

Another anime I watched, Sword Art Online was really good. Until it wasn’t. I mean, jumping from the first season to fairies to some gun-totting show, I just got confused. I won’t be picking this up. – Josh Perkins

Brillant game to play with friends but baffled as to why it is coming to switch. – Peter Wilkinson

The Longest Five Minutes – Friday, 23rd of February (Switch)

So, you start the game at the final boss but have forgotten everything you learned. So you have to relive your memories to get strong enough to fight the final boss. I think that this game is an interesting concept…but I’m not sure if it’s interesting enough for me to pick it up. – Josh Perkins

Past Cure – Friday, 23rd of February (PS4, XBone)

Another puzzle-solving psychological thriller. I feel like maybe the market is a bit saturated with these at the moment? Not a game for me. – Josh Perkins
