During PAX Aus weekend, I spent some time with Iain from Another Indie to discuss the games that they were showcasing. One of the three games they had on display, Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption, is a Souls-inspired boss battler that really got me interested.
Then, early Wednesday morning, Another Indie released both the amazing trailer and release date for Sinner. You can now consider me strapped in to the Hype Train for this game.
Developed by Dark Star Studios and published by Another Indie, Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption will release on PS4, XBone, PC and Mac on April 25th. The game has you take on the role of Adam, a soldier with a dark past on the quest for redemption. To atone, Adam has to battle a number of massive bosses embodying the Seven Deadly Sins. The real kicker is that before each battle, Adam has to sacrifice a part of himself, resulting in a permanent debuff for the rest of the game.
I had a good chat with Iain about Sinner during PAX Aus, and he told me one of the reasons he really loved Sinner was that it was accessible to everyone. While you could say that the game is a Souls-Inspired boss battler, even those that struggled with the Souls games (like me) can jump in and fight these amazingly epic battles. The fact that you will never be as powerful in the game as when you first start is also a very unique twist, and makes this game on of my most anticipated releases for early next year. You can wishlist it now on Steam, which I will be doing today.
You can find out more about the game on the official website, Twitter or Facebook by clicking the corresponding links. You can also read my whole interview with Iain at PAX Aus on the website here, and get an insight into a few of their other games.
Another Indie also have an active Discord Community, where they are constantly talking about Sinner as well as all their other games, so make sure to check that out as well.
