I seriously can’t believe that we are already in December. This year seems to have just blown passed us, and now we are staring down the barrel of Christmas. But what a year it has been! Thinking back, I can honestly say I don’t think I have been as excited for as many new releases as I have in 2017. It has been a year of amazing highs and horrible lows, but it’s not over yet! Have a read of the releases we are excited for this month below!

The Games

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Friday, 1st of December (Switch)

I am pretty keen for this game. I only picked up Xenoblade when it came to the WiiU with Xenoblade Chronicles X but I had a blast with it. I am excited to finally get another massive RPG I can play on the Switch – Josh Perkins

If it’s a little less MMO-esque then I’ll be a lot more interested. The first had a lot of promise but the actual gameplay wasn’t for me. – Joey Hedrick

I do not have 100 hours spare in my life for this game but if you do and you have a Switch I would be really looking into this game. – Peter Wilkinson

Xenoblade has always been a franchise that I know I should really love, but I’ve never really had a chance to play. That will continue with this title, as I still don’t own a switch. – Mathew Perkins

Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package – Tuesday, 5th of December (PS4)

Completely different team, completely different game. Not for fans of the first and second Dead Rising games. – Joey Hedrick

No thanks, I am fine with all the other games I need to catch up on. – Peter Wilkinson

Dead Rising 1 is still the best Dead Rising. – Mathew Perkins

Steep: Winter Games Edition – Tuesday, 5th of December (PS4, XBone)

I love Olympics games and especially Winter based ones, they were a big part of me growing up. I wish I had time for this game and may try and play the Open Beta to get more of an idea of how good this will be. – Peter Wilkinson

I never got around to playing Steep! Maybe I will finally hit the slopes now that I live in tropical North QLD?! – Mathew Perkins

Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition – Wednesday, 6th of December (PS4)

I already platinumed this game, so this release is not for me. – Mathew Perkins

If you are yet to pick up and play Horizon this year, then seriously consider asking for this as a stocking stuffer. Or just get it for yourself. This is almost a must play for PS4 owner’s this year. – Josh Perkins

Monster Hunter World beta – starting Saturday, December 9th (PSPlus Only)

Oh yes please! Can’t wait to get my hands on this. – Peter Wilkinson

I’m waiting with baited breath for the full release of this title. Definitely one of my most anticipated games of early 2018! – Mathew Perkins

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Game Preview Edition – Tuesday, 12th of December (XBone Online Only)

Classed as a Game Preview with XBox, PubG is basically getting another beta release to a wider audience while the game is still classed as being unfinished. I understand that this is a cult phenomenon, but can’t we just release complete games please? – Josh Perkins

If you are not one of the 20+ million people that have it on PC then I guess you could pick it up. The superior edition will always be the PC version though. – Peter Wilkinson

Okami HD – Tuesday, 12th of December (PC, PS4, XBone)

Okami was rad! Would play through it again. – Mathew Perkins

One of the better Zelda clones has finally made its way to PC (outside of emulation). I’m expecting the new lick of paint to do it wonders as it really is a visually unique game. – Joey Hedrick

Paperville Panic – December 2017 (Steam VR)

Played this game at PAX Aus and loved every second of it. Really cool graphics and played extremely well with the Vive. If you have a Vive sitting at home please check out this brilliant little Aussie VR title. – Peter Wilkinson
