Well, here we are. The final stretch. The last leg. The end of 2016. November is here. It has been an interesting year for all of us, with a number of high’s and lows. As we are getting closer and closer to Christmas, some of those games we have been waiting for since June this year are finally hitting the shelves. So check out the list below and let us know your thoughts on the releases we are excited for this month.

The Consoles

Nintendo Classic Mini: NES – Thursday, November 10th

I grew up with the NES, and can still (just!) remember playing the original Mario Bros. game on this classic console. With a list of pretty damn amazing pre-installed games, I wish I had picked one of these up before they had been sold out. – Josh Perkins

The collector in me is keen on this, the responsible adult in me is more keen to save some money and keep playing emulators and roms. It’s a neat idea, and would be a ‘nice-to-have’ but in no way a necessity for me. – Mathew Perkins

PS4 Pro – Thursday, November 10th

I can’t wait to see the flame wars begin as soon as this console is released. The amount of scrutiny that will be on this machine will be enormous. It claims to be able to do 4K gaming but the thoughts are that it will just be up-scaled to 4K. It will be a great replacement for the current model and at the price will be a good purchase for those wanting a PS4 but I can’t see anyone upgrading to the pro. – Peter Wilkinson

I won’t be upgrading to a pro just yet, but it is definitely on my list of things to get in 2017. The promise of 4K gaming is a nice one, but I am not sold that the PS4 Pro will be able to deliver on that promise just yet. I’d rather spend the money to upgrade my out of date and overused PC. – Mathew Perkins

The Games

Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure – Friday, November 4th (PS4, XBone, PS3, X360, PC)

I might end up getting this for my boy, Seth. He is a couple of years off being able to play games at the moment, but it’s always good to get a back catalogue going early! – Mathew Perkins

Football Manager 17- Friday, November 4th (PC)

The best Spreadsheet simulator on the market. I love the football manager series and I will pick this up at some stage but not at release. I have lost more hours to this series and Civilization in my life than anything else combined. This will be big. – Peter Wilkinson

I never, ever thought, that soccer could get any more boring. Well done boys, you proved me wrong. – Mathew Perkins

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Friday, November 4th (PS4, XBone)

I’m not too sure about this game…I really only ever pick them up because family are playing them and I want to join in on the multiplayer fun. I will probably get this eventually…just not straight away – Josh Perkins

This will be the biggest selling game of 2016. It will be interesting to see how the single player goes but it will be massive in the multiplayer scene. This release fascinates me more than anything else this year. – Peter Wilkinson

First COD game I have been mildly excited about in years. The decision to head full on into future tech is a brave one, even despite the series taking baby steps in that direction over the last 2 games. In saying all that, the recent news that you can pay for guns that have better stats in multiplayer is a real worry. If this game really does go ‘Pay-to-win’, and succeeds in doing so, it will open the floodgates for a rush of AAA games to do the same. And that is a future I am not keen on taking part in. – Mathew Perkins

Dishonored 2 – Thursday, November 10th (PS4, XBone, PC)

I played and enjoyed the first Dishonored. From what we have seen of this game so far, I am sure I will enjoy the sequel as well. – Josh Perkins

Keen! I loved Dishonored 1, it was a game that I sort of just, picked up and played one day after purchasing it in a steam sale. I expected nothing and was surprised. This time round, I expect something, so hopefully I won’t be disappointed. – Mathew Perkins

Tyranny – Thursday, November 10th (PC)

From the devs behind the successfully Kickstarted Pillars of Eternity, we’ve got something a little more sinister. I’m expecting the greyest of morally grey choices here considering your characters role as an overlord’s enforcer. Isometric RPG is best RPG. – Joey Hedrick

Watch Dogs 2 – Tuesday, November 15th (PS4, XBone, PC)

Now, I don’t care what anyone says. I am really excited for this game. I enjoyed the original game, although did feel there were a few things missing. Watch Dogs 2 seems to have addressed all of these issues and the early news I am reading about the game play is remarkably promising. This is one of the many releases this month that I will be getting my hands on as soon as possible. – Josh Perkins

I was not happy with the first Watch Dogs but Ubisoft has a knack of getting the second game in a series right. Nothing has hooked me in this game so far but I am sure it will be fun if you like open world games. – Peter Wilkinson

Josh and Peter like shit games. If this is a shit game, they will like it. – Mathew Perkins

Bah. Just a re-hashed GTA with shitty “hacking gimmicks”. I’ll pass – Mitchell Townley

Eagle Flight – Tuesday, November 15th (PSVR)

This looked like a lot of fun when I saw the game play videos from E3. If i had a PSVR, I would get this – Josh Perkins

Blanco – Wednesday, November 16th (PC)

Now bear with me here. This is a cutesy 3D platformer in the vein of Croc that is being developed by a small team so don’t expect much on the graphics side of things. I stumbled across it some time ago and have been monitoring it since then. Great soundtrack from what I’ve heard so far but hoping that’s not the only thing that keeps me interested. – Joey Hedrick

Joey said ‘Croc’ and now my interests are piqued. – Mathew Perkins

Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection – Thursday, November 17th (PS4, XBone)

I believe these are the best games in the series, purely for the storyline. I have played the games to death and will not be going back but I urge anyone who has not played them please grab this collection and experience Assassin’s Creed at its best. – Peter Wilkinson

These are the best games in the Assassins Creed Saga to date. But seriously…. Guys….. Stop re-releasing games! Over, and over and over again! – Mathew Perkins

Pokemon Moon/Sun – Friday, November 18th (3DS)

The wife will be getting Moon and I will get Sun. Pokemon has always been a fun game. – Josh Perkins

Really want to play this but I don’t have a 3DS and I don’t want to get one just yet with the witch announcement. It’s Pokemon people, it will be great. – Peter Wilkinson

Will be picking up the latest Pokemon, as I do every release. They are enjoyable games in an ever expanding universe. – Mitchell Townley

I will probably pick these up. I have found myself pouring a lot of time into handhelds these days. Being a new father, they are just so, convenient. Also, sidebar, PSVita’s remote play might be the most underrated feature this generation. – Mathew Perkins

Final Fantasy XV – Tuesday, November 29th (PS4, XBone)

FINALLY!! After the two demo’s I have spent time with, I have been so eager for this to come out. This game will chew up so much of my time, and I hope my wife understands that I still love her, regardless of how much time i spend with this game instead of her. – Josh Perkins

It is really happening, the game has gone gold! Say goodbye to your friends and family for the next 100+ hours. I’m really worried about this game but it’s the latest  Final Fantasy game so it will have fans no matter what. – Peter Wilkinson

I’M GOING TO TYPE IN ALL CAPS AND NO GRAMMAR BECAUSE I HAVE WAITED 10 YEARS FOR THIS FUCKING GAME AND IT IS FINALLY HERE AND I CAN’T PROPERLY CONVEY HOW EXCITED I AM TO PLAY IT. But in all seriousness, they better not fuck it up. – Mathew Perkins

In all honestly this is the only game I want this November. Nothing else even compares to how much want this game. I will sink at least 100 hours even if it is complete shit. – Mitchell Townley

The Movies

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – Thursday, November 17th

USM has a few fantastic beasts and I know exactly where to find them. – Mathew Perkins

The Shows

PAX Aus: Melbourne – Friday November 4th to Sunday November 6th

The biggest gaming expo in Australia by a country mile. If you’re into gaming and nerd culture, which I know you are, make sure you get to this at some stage in your life. Melbourne celebrates gaming all week and PAX becomes the pinnacle of this week. I am so excited to get there again this year and if I don’t see you there this year make sure I do next year. – Peter Wilkinson
