Exciting news out of 2K and Basketball Australia this morning! The Australian Boomers will be featured as a playable team in the award winning NBA franchise from Visual Concepts. This is the first time a national team (other than team USA) has appeared in the NBA 2K series of games since its inception way back in 1999.

As it stands, the lineup will consist of the following home-grown talent

Anthony Moore, CEO of Basketball Australia stated, “We are absolutely thrilled to be part of NBA 2K17, the biggest NBA game in the world.  We jumped at the chance to have our Australian Boomers in the game and now Australian gamers can take on the world with Patty Mills, Matthew Dellavedova and Andrew Bogut together in the green and gold.”

In a recent interview, Patty Mills spoke highly of the current state of Australian Basketball. “Australian basketball continues to go from strength-to-strength and our players are leaving their mark on leagues around the world. It’s great to see 2K recognizing our nation’s growing impact on the sport with the inclusion of Team Australia in NBA 2K17.”

The NBA 2K17 will be available on Friday September 16th for $99.95 on Xbox One and PS4. It will also be available for $79.95 on Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows PC platforms. The NBA 2K17 Kobe Bryant Legend Edition will be released at $119.95 on Xbox One and PS4.
