June 2016 Outlook

June has always been an interesting time of year for the gaming community. Traditionally, game releases dry up as we get closer and closer to the month, only to explode out of the gate in the latter half of the year. On the cinema-world side of things, we have a nice line up of movies hitting Australian Shores as well. And let’s not forget the magical E3 Expo. Held from the 14 th to the 16 th of June in LA, E3 gives us a look at what is coming up for the next year of gaming, and has...

The PS4 Neo and the Xbox Scorpio, and All the Teraflops in Between.

If gaming news was a ship titled the S.S.Sony Nintensoft, then someone should check the hull, because baby, this ship appears to be a-leakin’. No Man’s Sky Delayed Until August 9th. People Prove They Are Fuckwits, Yet Again.

Last week it was reported on Kotaku that No Man’s Sky was being delayed (source) and although Jason Schreier couldn’t name the individual/s that passed on the initial information about the delay, he could pinpoint that it was Gamestop who showed him marketing material from Hello Games, requesting that the ‘Out on June 21!’ banners be replaced by ‘coming soon’ banners. Later that week Hello Games themselves confirmed the rumours and redesignated the release for August 9th. This is pretty standard stuff in the video game world, especially for a game as grandiose as No Man’s Sky. However the...

Battleborn Review

Borderlands 4 Battleborn is the latest game to be developed by Gearbox Software and released by 2K, the creators of the Borderlands series of games. At its heart, Battleborn is a first person online shooter that combines the art style, humor and game play of a traditional Borderlands game with the online dynamics of competitive shooters along the lines of Call of Duty and Battlefield in an attempt to stand apart in what is becoming an increasingly flooded market. And while not perfect, it does an admirable job of creating a memorable and enjoyable experience. There are a few...

The Photography of Uncharted 4

I haven’t enjoyed playing a game this much in a long, long time. It’s only May and Uncharted already could be my game of the year, meeting and exceeding my already high expectations in every way. From its engrossing storyline to the infectious character interactions, there isn’t much you can say about Uncharted 4 that hasn’t already been said. This is one of the core reasons why I decided not to review this game, as a review that proudly shouts “UNCHARTED 4 IS AMAZING” is redundant at this point. What I decided to do instead, is share some of...
