Red Dead Redemption is arguably one of the best games released for the last generation of consoles. A sequel to what was in many people’s eyes, the greatest and most realised ‘western’ game ever released, seems like a no brainer. However Rockstar have been tight lipped about continuing the franchise and while there have been rumours of the sequels development whispered about in the dark corners of the internet, no solid proof has come to light that Red Dead Redemption 2 exists.

The map for the long awaited sequel was allegedly leaked on NeoGAF over the weekend. The source of the leak also told Techradar that the game would be a prequel, set before the events of Red Dead Redemption.

The map looks massive, the entirety of Red Dead Redemption can be seen as a single, small area in the bottom left of the screen. It also appears to hint at the inclusion of boats to cross rivers, and a potential crossover with Rockstars upcoming game Mafia 3, as the City of New Bordeaux, the central city in Mafia, can also be seen in the leaked map.
